About This Project
Nestled beside Lake Josephine outside of Minneapolis, this complete home renovation began with a single guiding principle: the lake is everything. The views, the light, the landscape, all of it became the foundation for every decision made inside the home.
The interior palette was drawn directly from the water and natural surroundings outside, creating a seamless connection between the home and its setting. Natural light was maximized throughout, and materials were carefully balanced between wood, stone, pottery, and varied textured fabrics against metal and smoother surfaces. The result is a layered, grounded interior that feels as natural as the landscape it sits within.
Every room was planned to support how this family truly lives. Spaces were arranged to optimize daily flow among the fireplace lounge, living areas, and kitchen and dining areas, while maximizing lake views from every angle. The clients' sophisticated and eclectic aesthetic guided every selection of furnishings and finishes, creating rooms that feel personal, warm, and full of character.
The lower level was designed as a destination in itself. A custom bar, wine cellar, and cozy lounge area were built to support the gatherings and everyday moments that bring this family genuine joy.
The result is a home that restores. One that welcomes everyone in and reflects exactly who its owners are.
